เมื่อวันที่ 23 ม.ค. 2569 พล.อ.อ. ประภาส สอนใจดี ผู้ช่วยผู้บัญชาการทหารอากาศ ในฐานะผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ข่าวสารสถานการณ์ไทย-กัมพูชาเปิดเผยว่า ไทยยืนยันจุดยืนการแก้ไขปัญหาด้วยสันติวิธี เคารพกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ และใช้กลไกทวิภาคีเป็นหลัก พร้อมให้ความสำคัญสูงสุดต่อความปลอดภัยของประชาชน สิทธิมนุษยชน และการคุ้มครองมรดกวัฒนธรรม หลังเกิดกระแสข้อกล่าวหาจากฝ่ายกัมพูชาในหลายประเด็น

กรณีที่กัมพูชากล่าวหาว่าไทยทำลาย “ปราสาทตาควาย” และก่อสร้างสิ่งปลูกสร้างใกล้โบราณสถานนั้น ไทยยืนยันไม่สนับสนุนการกระทำใด ๆ ที่กระทบต่อโบราณสถานหรือศาสนสถาน พร้อมขอให้มีการประสานงานตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงร่วมกันก่อนการเผยแพร่ข้อมูลหรือกล่าวหา เพื่อป้องกันความเข้าใจผิดและลดความตึงเครียด

ส่วนข้อกล่าวหาเรื่องการละเมิดอธิปไตย กรณีการอัญเชิญพระพุทธรูปบริเวณ ช่องอานม้า นั้นยืนยันว่า เราเคารพความเชื่อและวัฒนธรรมของทุกฝ่าย และเห็นว่าประเด็นอ่อนไหวควรอยู่ในกรอบการหารืออย่างเป็นทางการ มากกว่าการกล่าวหาในที่สาธารณะ โดยไทยพร้อมประสานงานตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงผ่านช่องทางที่เหมาะสม เพื่อรักษาบรรยากาศสันติและความไว้วางใจระหว่างกัน

ส่วนในประเด็นที่กัมพูชาร้องขอให้ สำนักงานข้าหลวงใหญ่สิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ (OHCHR) เข้าติดตามสถานการณ์ โดยกล่าวหาว่าไทยทำลายบ้านเรือนและทรัพย์สินประชาชน ไทยขอย้ำว่าเราให้ความสำคัญต่อสิทธิมนุษยชนและหลักมนุษยธรรมสากล และมุ่งลดผลกระทบต่อพลเรือนเป็นลำดับแรก อย่างไรก็ตาม การตรวจสอบใด ๆ ควรตั้งอยู่บนหลักฐาน ข้อเท็จจริง ความเป็นกลาง และความเป็นมืออาชีพ ไม่ถูกนำไปใช้เป็นเครื่องมือทางการเมือง

สำหรับสถานการณ์ผู้พลัดถิ่น ไทยแสดงความเห็นใจต่อผู้ได้รับผลกระทบ และพร้อมสนับสนุนความร่วมมือด้านมนุษยธรรมที่เหมาะสม พร้อมขอให้ทุกฝ่ายสื่อสารข้อมูลอย่างรับผิดชอบ ไม่สร้างกระแสที่อาจทำให้สถานการณ์ตึงเครียดมากขึ้น

ขณะเดียวกัน กรณีที่กัมพูชาขอบคุณ UNESCO และกล่าวหาว่าทหารไทยโจมตีมรดกโลก ไทยยืนยันพร้อมสนับสนุนบทบาทของ UNESCO ในการอนุรักษ์มรดกโลก และเห็นว่าการพิจารณาความเสียหายควรอาศัยการประเมินจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญที่เป็นกลาง ไม่ใช่ข้อสรุปฝ่ายเดียว ไทยพร้อมให้ความร่วมมือในกระบวนการที่น่าเชื่อถือ เพื่อไม่ให้มรดกวัฒนธรรมถูกนำมาใช้เป็นชนวนเพิ่มความขัดแย้ง

ทั้งนี้ ไทยย้ำขอให้ทุกฝ่ายหลีกเลี่ยงการเผยแพร่ข้อมูลฝ่ายเดียวที่อาจเพิ่มความตึงเครียด และร่วมกันรักษาบรรยากาศแห่งสันติภาพ เพื่อส่งเสริมความไว้เนื้อเชื่อใจและเสถียรภาพในภูมิภาค
